Fuck Yeah Amp Worship!

Mmm...tone.

Pray for Teeth’s tour setup. Lots of cabs and heads for a three piece band.

"I would definitely go with the ultra for anything thrash oriented. The ultra is a bit more modern sounding than the vtm and butcher(which are practically the same amps minus the vtm having dip switches to "mod" certain aspects of the sound) and it's certainly tighter, which is a big aspect of thrash guitar tone. Get the ultra and scoop the mids justttt a tad and you're in thrash heaven."

Another perspective. Maybe a discrepancy in definition of “thrash.”

"I plan on playing very aggressive music, would you recommend any tube heads that are reasonably priced?"

I am going to assume little discretion as to your price range, so we’ll call “under $1000” reasonably-priced.

Peavey VTM (60W or 120W)
Peavey Butcher
Peavey Ultra
Ampeg V-4 (or V-2)
Sovtek Mig 100
Laney AOR
Red Bear MKE 60
Sunn Sceptre
Sound City 50 (or whatever really)

EDIT: If you’re looking for a more scoopy, modern “high gain” tone, try a Peavey 5150 or 6505, or a Bugera 6262. Gets you them thick chuggas.

"Best amp for heavy hardcore?"

Just gonna throw a bunch of shit off the top of my head and see what sticks:

Peavey 6505, Peavey 5150.
Soldano SLO 100.
Mesa Dual (or Triple) Rec.
Marshall JCM 800 (or 900).
Ampeg V-4.
Peavey VTM120.
Sovtek Mig 100.
