Yeah. The new Acoustic stuff on sale at GC isn’t horrible or anything, like it makes sound and is fairly bassy, but I probably wouldn’t buy it on my worst day.

First of all, Black Breath rules and you been sleeping on ‘em for too long, dawg. Acoustic had its heyday in the ’70s. They manufactured primarily solid state bass gear and it was awesome. That’s why they take pedals well and accommodate fuzzy sludge tone; they’re otherwise very loud and clean. Their models now are eh. Good cabs though.

That’s fucking killer. I’m dying for an 18” or two.
Better pick up a seismometer.

They good.
I’ve never heard that particular Carvin head, but I know a dude who plays a Carvin guitar head for insane spazzy grind and it sounds so good. If you’re playing doom, dudes will probably shit on you because it doesn’t have an “O)))” on it anywhere, but we’re all gonna be fucking deaf someday anyway.

I’ve heard the 200W version get the job done, so I feel pretty confident in something with three times the power.

Vintage Ampeg is your best bet, particularly the V-4B – the prices are going up on them but if you can find them for $500 or less go for it. B25s are neat too, though possibly underpowered. For the more affordable stuff: Sunn Coliseum/Coliseum Bass/Coliseum 300. Sunn Concert Bass, Sunn Beta Bass. The Traynor YBA-1 is cool, though a YBA-1A (twice the power) is more sensible for bass purposes. Acoustic’s 300- and 400-series heads are rad. I’ve heard good things about Peavey’s Mark series. I’d go on but the prices are just gonna go up, hopefully this helps.

Have to say, my Mig 60 was not optimal for heavy shit.

The bassist for my good friends My Fictions has a 370, and I’ve heard him play it through an Ampeg 8x10 and a Peavey 2x15. One time, both. Another time, the Peavey 2x15 plus a Sunn 2x15. All configurations were stellar. As long as your selection can handle the wattage of the 370, it’ll come down to personal preference.
I’m sure a matching Acoustic cab (or two) would serve you well. When I got to record Touché Amoré live, I remember being impressed by the sound of an Acoustic head (maybe a 220?) with a matching 8x10. Can’t front on that.
