"I recently just purchased an Orange 4x12 with V30s and a Dual Rectifier to go along with it. I can't get a good, high gain tone out of it with making it extremely loud (as in, the walls start shaking loud). I have a clean boost between the guitar and the amp, also. You say “extremely loud” like it’s a bad thing.

You’re not the only one who’s ever had a hard time dialing in a Dual Rec. I had kind of a nightmare scenario up against one once. I don’t think it’s a bad purchase per se but I think that your chain leading up to that amp has very little margin for error; it doesn’t flatter everything and it isn’t made for everything.
