"Hey, I have a ADA MP-1 preamp running through a Sonic Maximizer, then out to a 66 Fender Bassman Blackface head. What i'm having trouble with is finding the right speakers, Celestion g12t-75's wont handle it, they get really flubby in the low end. Any suggestions on speakers? Swamp Thangs? Btw, I play metal, and I tune to drop G on a 7 string. Thanks!"

Honestly, it’s tricky for me to make judgments on speakers, since you’re more often confronted with the make and model of the cab than what’s inside it. So I’m not sure I’ve been face-to-face with a set of Swamp Thangs. I do however have an internet connection, and Eminence touts their bass response, but at the same time recommends them for jazz, blues and rock. Different kind of “bass response” and maybe not all low ends are created equally, but it’s got to be an improvement in some way.
